available races for this wickshire
Non-Halflings may have access to halfling classes, or their traditional options, depending on their background strengths.
halfling classes
Halfling adventurers are strongly influenced by their cultural ties to nature. Theirs is a practical tie, less whimsical and arcane than the fey. They focus on a healthy balance between the needs of a civil people and towns vs. raw primal power. This manifests as an orderly expression where everything has it’s designated place to keep order.
Many of these classes have a religious leaning and venerate the halfling pantheon lead by Yondalla. Not all druids are overtly religious, but all halflings revere the God Mother in their own way.

politics
Wickshire, Protectorate of the Seven Clans, is a halfling principality that functions as a vassal state to the Seven Clans in exchange for trade, resources, and protection. The halflings have an actual prince guided by a council of village elders who focus on culture and village relations. This is complimented and influenced by a dwarf-assigned Sheriff who is responsible for trade and martial regulations.
The Seven Clans
For over half a millennium these clans have watched over the halfling shire. While the halfling state is a vassal to the dwarven High Thane, the relationship is not condescending or overly paternal. It is driven by a strong balance of needs. The halflings provide foods, fiber, and wood to the dwarves who in turn provide minerals, goods, and martial protection.
The Primal Tribes of the Kostromos
The Kostromos tribes roam the high steppes between Wickshire and Avenal. On rare occasion these tribes will cross the Valda River and raid the shire for resources, but these raids are few and far between as they are quickly met by a strong dwarven response. Due to this the tribes are mostly inattentive and provide a mostly-stable border. Tribes: Asan, Molvos
The Humans of Avenal
Avenal, the Last City, is so far away from Wickshire that it is, effectively, a rumored place. Humans from the city are very few and far between, mostly adventurers, and either benevolent fugitives, or genuinely curious about halfling culture, etc. Half-Orcs fall under this umbrella. Seeking a space where their nature may not cause them to be of the lowest class.
The Aasimar
This race, and it’s home, are unknown to the halflings. Any sightings are assumed to be humans of albino nature or ghosts in the wood. The Aasimar are deliberately reclusive, in hiding for ages after losing a great and bloody war to the Tiefling Empire. As such, the Aasimar use the halfling state as a buffer to the world and attempt to hide behind it, stepping forward only in times of true duress.
